About Me
I graduated from the Smith College School for Social Work with an MSW in Clinical Social Work. I trained in the fields of homeless services and inpatient psychiatry, and I have experience working with individuals with significant trauma history and issues related to substance use. Before becoming a clinician, I practiced youth work and street outreach. I have an educational background in philosophy, and completed psychodynamic coursework as a graduate student.
I completed a one-year fellowship at the Psychodynamic Couples and Family Institute of New England, and I am currently a member of the Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy. I participate in ongoing individual and group supervision, and I deepen my expertise through continuing education.
I became a therapist because I love being with people and learning from them. I’m not here to fix you. Therapy offers us the opportunity to understand who we are and to build a relationship with ourselves. I'm here simply to facilitate that unique relationship.
Individual Therapy
Our past experiences inform our present: they shape how we see ourselves, the world around us, and affect the way we relate to others. However, we determine the meaning of our own experiences, and everyone's narrative is different. My approach involves addressing your existential concerns, as well as unhealed internal wounds. Together we will examine your relationship patterns, and work to replace what no longer serves you with a fresh perspective and new skills.
I work relationally, allowing space for honesty, humor and validation. My style is to challenge your assumptions and thinking patterns, while keeping in mind that you are the expert on your own life. I combine fierce compassion with healthy skepticism, and focus first on building a trusting relationship between us. I approach our differences with curiosity, respect, and humility, intending to learn from our work together and to grow as a clinician (and as a person) as a result.
My hope is that, through our work together, you are able to cultivate the strong sense that you are capable of change and deserving of goodness.
Every close relationship involves each individual and the space between them. That space can be a playground for honesty, compassion, and understanding. However, there are times when we all become mired in miscommunication and misinterpretation. Everyone brings a specific set of past experiences and survival skills to our relationships. We all must continuously cope with the challenge of loving someone through difference, leading each other through the woods again and again.

Group Therapy
The grief following the end of a relationship can be intense and devastating. Not only do we experience the pain of losing the relationship, but oftentimes old wounds resurface along with it, making it more difficult for us to cope. Many of us hope to learn from our relationships and find ways to grow in the wake of a breakup, but this process can be confusing and lonely. Everyone deserves to feel supported and understood during this time, and given space to honor their grief. This group offers that space.
This group is mixed gender, LGBTQIA inclusive, and open to adults of all ages. Individuals join on a rolling basis for a minimum of four weeks, and are welcome to stay for as long as they need.
